In this tutorial we’ll go over how to integrate Salesforce and Trumpia on Zapier.
Zapier is a tool that helps integrate web applications that you use for your business that may not normally have built-in integration options.
In this tutorial we’ll be going over how to add a new contact to Trumpia when a new contact record is created in Salesforce.
Step 1 – Trigger Event
To get started. log into your Zapier account and select “Create Zap”.
In the trigger section, you’ll be asked what your “App event” will be. Since you want this zap to trigger whenever Salesforce creates a new contact record, select Salesforce as your “App Event”.
Then you’ll be asked for a triggering event. Select “New Record”.
Next, connect your Salesforce account to Zapier. If your Salesforce account is already connected with Zapier, all you have to do is select your account.
Step 2 – Setting Up Your Trigger
This example applies to when you’re interested in adding new contacts from Salesforce to Trumpia.
Let’s call your Salesforce record “Contact”. Search for that record name by scrolling down on the search bar.
Before moving on to setting up the steps needed for Trumpia, Zapier requires that you test the trigger for Salesforce. This is just to make sure that everything is working correctly and that the correct account is connected.
Once the contact record you want to work on was successfully found in Salesforce (including all its relevant data), you can move on to connecting my Trumpia account.
Step 3 – Action Event
Select Trumpia as your App. Select the “Create Contact” event. Then select the Trumpia account that you want to be placing these new contacts from Salesforce into.
Then, you need to set which distribution list you want those contacts to go to. Select the corresponding distribution list, and match up the contact data from Salesforce to their Trumpia equivalent.
The name of each contact will be already filled out for you. So you need to move onto their emails. Select the email field from Salesforce.
For the mobile number on Trumpia, select “Phone” from Salesforce.
Before you finish setting up this Zap, keep in mind that first name and last name are both required fields for Trumpia; so it’s recommended to split up the full name into their respective fields.
Next, verify that the data from Salesforce to Trumpia is matched up correctly. Once you do that, you can continue on and test the Zap you just created. All that is left to do is turn on the Zap and the Salesforce to Trumpia integration is complete. If an error has occurred, you’ll be notified at the ‘Turn on Zap’ tab.
